You will learn how to reduce conflict with difficult or agitated clients in an inpatient or outpatient setting while protecting yourself, your staff members, and others. (2 CEU hours)

Course Objectives

By the end of the course, therapists will have the tools and understand the rationale that will:

  • Ensure the safety of the patient, staff, and others.
  • Help the patient manage their emotions and distress and maintain or regain control of their behavior.
  • Avoid the use of restraint when at all possible.
  • Avoid coercive interventions that escalate agitation.
