If you are a psychotherapist, you will counsel clients who are abusing drugs and alcohol. This course contains basic information about substance abuse as well as more advanced information, including prescription drug abuse, which is rampant and increasing rapidly. The material will give you a basic understanding of the prevalence of these problems, how to screen, how to recognize denial, and how to make appropriate referrals.
