I’m a Florida registered intern. What courses do I need for initial licensure, and when do I have to take them?
Registered Interns have 5 years to complete their continuing education courses. The earlier these are taken within your internship, the better.
The required courses are:
8 Hour Laws and Rules – Must include a live interactive component. Must be completed prior to taking your test.
2 Hours Domestic Violence – Must be completed at any time during your internship, but no more than six months post-licensure.
3 Hours HIV/AIDs – Must be completed at any time during your internship, but no more than six months post-licensure.

I’m a Florida LMHC, LMFT, or LCSW. What courses do I need to take in order to renew my license?
Licensees must complete 30 CEUs per biennium. A biennium is a fixed 2-year period that begins on April 1st of the odd numbered year, and ends on March 31st of the next odd-numbered year. Licensees do not need CEUs during their first biennium.
The required courses are:
3 Hour Laws and Rules Review – Must be taken every 3rd biennium
2 Hours Domestic Violence – Must be taken every 3rd biennium
2 Hours of Medical Errors – Must be taken by an approved Medical Errors provider
2 Hours of Teletherapy or Ethics & Boundaries – Must be taken in alternating bienniums
The remaining hours can come from any area by Board-Approved providers, but only 6 hours may come from administrative or non-clinical subject areas.

From the Cart page, you can review your total purchase amount before payment. Feel free to add or remove courses as needed.
Once you are ready to purchase, click on the blue “Checkout” button towards the bottom right of the screen.

Click “Pay with PayPal” or “Debit or Credit Card“, depending on your payment method and enter your payment information. Orders can be placed even without a PayPal account. We have created a full set of step-by-step instructions for you to follow here:
You do not have to download a course unless you wish to save it on your computer. The course will always be available to view in a browser from your course dashboard. A PDF will open in a new window on your browser. Click the download symbol to download the PDF on your computer.
After reading the course materials, if you click the button at the bottom of the screen you will be taken to the Quiz page. This can also be found from your “My Account” dashboard under “My Courses“.
To being the quiz, click the button to start. You will see all of the questions & have buttons at the bottom of the quiz to submit your answers or restart from scratch.
We believe in enjoying while learning, not stressing over a test. When you take our quiz, if you get an answer wrong, the website will tell you the correct answer. Then you can try again, as many times as you need to. That way you can relax, learn, and have peace of mind while you study.
Click the “Retake Quiz” button at the bottom of the page to re-take the exam.
After the test has been passed, click the button to move to the Evaluation. Completing the eval will give us all of the information we typically need to submit your CEUs.
Fill out course evaluation and click “Submit” when completed.
Note: The evaluation form MUST be completed before CEUs will be sent to CE Broker.
After you submit the eval you will be automatically redirected back to your dashboard. Under the “Downloads” tab you should now see your recently completed course certificate. Click the blue “View Certificate” button to view or download the certificate.
Note: The evaluation form MUST be completed before CEUs will be sent to CE Broker.
If you are a licensee, after we receive your course evaluation(s), one for each course, we will enter your credits into CE Broker within 24 hours.
If you are a registered intern, we are not permitted to enter your credits into CE Broker. You must send the Board your certificates of completion the same way you provided them with your other documentation for licensure.
Note: The evaluation form MUST be completed before CEUs will be sent to CE Broker.
If you do not see your credits in CE Broker, it may be because you did not submit a course evaluation. The Board requires us to receive an evaluation from you (one for each course) before we can issue credit. Once we receive your evaluation, we will enter your credits within 24 hours.
If you submitted an evaluation but still do not see credits, please email Susan@FLContinuingEducation.org.
Note: The evaluation form MUST be completed before CEUs will be sent to CE Broker.
