Advanced Substance Abuse and Addictions

If you are a psychotherapist, you will counsel clients who are abusing drugs and alcohol. This course contains basic information about substance abuse as well as more advanced information, including prescription drug abuse, which is rampant and increasing rapidly. The material will give you a basic understanding of the prevalence of these problems, how to screen, how to recognize denial, and how to make appropriate referrals. It also contains handy screening tools, questionnaires, blood alcohol level charts, and handouts for therapists, clients, and family members. (4 CEU hours)

One Hour Laws and Rules Review for Midwives

In this course, we will translate Florida Law into plain English, making it EASY for you to understand the legal requirements of your profession.

We tackle the Midwifery Practice Act section by section, review the relevant portions of the Administrative Rule 64B24, and touch on Chapter 456, which contains the violations and penalties you MUST be aware of to protect your license and your patients.

Throughout this review, we try to speak in layperson’s terms (instead of legalese) and attempt to answer common questions you may have about the laws and rules.
